After 15 years... I'm sharing this

I can’t believe I am creeping to the end of 15 years of being a part of one of the most magical industries in the world.  It’s been full of ups and downs, laughs, tears, milestones - some good, some bad, and some kick-ass ones too! All of them I am grateful for and would not change a thing!

But with that being said, I have learned many valuable lessons. Today, I want to share with you three things that have kept me from going crazy with overwhelmed and the feeling of “owing” the world something!

Lesson #1: Having a social media strategy is more than when and where to post

I often hear a lot of people talk about not knowing when to post on social media and feeling like that is the end-all-be-all to engagement and getting our dream clients in the chair. However, it’s so much more than that having a social media strategy is about having a system that is in line with the goal of why you show up online at all.

In the system, you will have goals, actionable steps, and objectives to get you there.

Lesson #2 You can’t “ do everything at once

I know we have been taught that we must be the jack of all trades, but I believe if you do this, you are the master of none. In my career, I learned that the things I can imagine, are the things that I’m good at, and I can give away the things that don’t light me up. This has pushed my business forward.

I would invite you to get curious about the things that you love doing in your business and then list the things that give you a major- headache. You can’t be 100% “headache-less” but there are some things that you can get rid of or delegate by hiring someone to do it. I promise, you’ll feel so much better and ready to slay whatever is next.

Lesson #3 Don’t be afraid to say “No”

Saying ‘no’ to something that doesn’t light you up is an opportunity to say “hell ya” to something you really want to do!

When I first started, I felt obligated to do all the things for everyone. I felt like, if I didn’t say ‘yes’ to every opportunity, I would miss out on something. Then I had a mind shift.

What if I only said ‘yes’ to the things that I absolutely wanted to do? What would happen?

Let me tell you, I enjoy doing the things that I do now and I have no resentment or ill feelings about doing them because this is what I want to do and unlike before, when I feel obligated to do them.

I look at it like this: if you say ‘no’ to an opportunity that you’re not a ‘hell yes’, you will be available to do what you love when an opportunity arises!

I have learned so many lessons in my life, but these three, although very different areas, have helped me achieve massive successes and feel less overwhelmed. I can confidently say, “I’m living my dream!”
